Nægativæon (Franck & Zapparoli), Marouchka dj set

12 décembre 2018

Café Central 14, Rue Borgval - 1000 Bruxelles

NÆGATIVÆON is a duo between Marta Zapparoli and Yannick Franck. The project is a space where their mutual concerns collide and generate unexpected, mutant forms of music. A blend of raw experimentalism, abstract industrial beats, field recordings, tape manipulations and analog abuse.

Marta Zapparoli is a prolific Italian experimental sound artist, improviser, performer and self taught researcher. She works and lives in Berlin since 2007. Her sonic work is articulated around recordings that she makes using a wide range of devices, microphones, antennas, radio receivers and detectors. Her main focuses are acoustic ecology, man-made-noise, radio waves phenomena, natural atmospheric noise, Very Low Frequencies (VLF) and wireless communication. Based on the countless recordings she captures around the world, Marta builds strongly narrative and imaginative pieces through live improvisation and real-time tape manipulation.
Since 2009 She is one of the 24 members of the contemporary music ensemble Splitter Orchester in Berlin. She is also involved in several collaborative projects around sound experimentation and improvisation. She performed in Festivals all over Europe, U.S.A, UK, Turkey and shared the bill with many highly regarded musicians.

Yannick Franck explores radical soundscaping since 2005. He has performed and released his music worldwide and he is at the origin of many solo and collaborative projects. All of them are promoted through the platform ⊹ nsnwrdsnsgls ⊹

He plays in celebrated duo Orphan Swords (Aurora Borealis recordings.Instruments of Discipline) and his solo outfit RAUM (Clan Destine RecordsThirdType Tapes) has been called "an Industrial tour de force" by The Brvtalist, coined as "Massive in all regards" by Inverted Audio while XLR8R said "With Wreck The Bloodline, RAUM has created a compelling, affecting, and, at times, frightening body of work".
