Elektwo Chouk : Chouk Bwa Libète & The Ångströmers (Haïti/fr/be)

28 septembre 2016

Free

Café Central 14, Rue Borgval - 1000 Bruxelles

Chouk Bwa Libète is a traditional Haitian roots band—“Mizik Rasin.”
The source of this music is the essential elements of Haitian Vodou: rhythms, songs and dances. These are the roots, torn from Africa, secretly replanted in a new land.
The members of the group live in Gonaives, an area of Haiti steeped in Vodou.
With The Ångströmers they bring to the stage the dimension of time that you can find in vodou ceremonial music.

Frédéric Alstadt and Nicolas Esterle are running Ångström Records and Ångström Mastering Studio in Brussels.
For this very special occasion, they are forming The Ångströmers as a dual entity entering the circle of Chouk Bwa Libete with their modular synth and analog drum trigging. Processing the raw acoustic energy with electric rays.
