Some Noise presents Caroline Kraabel (us) Jacques Foschia (be)

Caroline Kraabel (born 1961 in Torrance, California) is a London-based American composer, improviser and saxophonist. She is known for her research into the implications of electricity related to recording, synthesis and amplification. After living in Seattle, Kraabel moved to London while in her teenage years, at the end of the punk era.[1] There she took up the saxophone and became active in London's improvised music scene, eventually developing a style based on the physicality of the instrument, extended techniques and acoustics. She has performed solo and collaborated with John Edwards, Veryan Weston,[2] Charlotte Hug, Maggie Nicols,[3] Phil Hargreaves, and the London Improvisors Orchestra[4] among others.

+ Jacques Foschia (clarinets, radio artist) begins his investigation in different fields of improvisation by exploring the relationship dance/music with the amercican bass player Barre Phillips. Since 2000 he joined the colorful and innovative band "London Improvisers Orchestra". Foschia also develloped collaborations with experimental groups from the London improvisation scene, such as the Bohman brothers, Robert Jarvis, Lawrence Casserley, David Leahy, Tony Marsh, David Thucker etc... He founded the Belgian/German band "Canaries on the Pole" with Christoph Irmer, Georg Wissel and Mike Goyvaerts. Foschia is also involved with radio art work, producing radio pieces under several names for few international radio nets (Kunstradio ORF, Radia FM, Silenceradio) and has been working from some years on streamed and live performances with the Japanese philosopher, activist and radio artist Tetsuo Kogawa. As the main founder of "La brocante sonore" (an experimental group concept incuding guitar, shoe shine cleaner, sound samplings) and ETC band, he's performing with transmitters and his vintage shortwaves valves receivers. ETC performed last year in China touring in Beijing, Nanjing and Shanghai (midi mini festival).
